It’s time to create your own community!

Have you ever wondered if people on campus share your passion? Well, a great way to find out is by starting a club and finding your community!

Student life is not all about attending classes, talking to instructors and meeting assignment deadlines; you deserve to have some fun. If you’re looking to meet new people and have a blast, IGNITE Clubs are for you.

IGNITE has over 40 clubs you can join today, but if you have a different passion or if you want to innovate, you can create your club and find your people.

Running a club has many benefits:

You can grow your network

Did you know that connecting to other students is a key component of your education and social life?

Networking in college has many benefits. Connecting with your peers not only can result in them landing you a job opportunity in the future, but you can potentially find your go-to college buddy!

Being part of a club means you share a passion with the other members, making it easier to build connections and form lasting friendships. You will also meet students from different backgrounds with unique stories. Isn’t that what college and university is all about?

You’ll develop new skills

Learning new skills while doing something fun is just a utopic dream. Wait a minute, not really, I can develop new skills while having a blast running an IGNITE club!

You have to set up meetings, events and social gatherings while working with a diverse group of people that have different ideas and perspectives. These experiences will enhance your communication, leadership and management skills.

Participating in extracurricular activities, such as being the leader of a club, can help you impress a future employer. Hello, potential!

You’ll feel part of a community

We know that student life is not easy, you not only have to worry about assignments and classes, but you’re also going to a place where you don’t know anybody. It’s good to know that you’re not the only one missing home and family.

If you run a club, you will feel a sense of belonging. At the end of the day, club members can become a chosen family at school. They’re the people you can count on even if things seem cloudy.

You’ll get a break from your studies

“OK, I’m done with schoolwork,” you say to yourself. Again.

Post-secondary studies can be stressful, that’s a fact. But your routine doesn’t need to be eat, study, sleep, repeat – you deserve a break.

Club meetings and events are the fresh air you need to recharge your energies before working on school projects. A good chat and hearty laughs with people that share your passion are the perfect activity to achieve a study-life balance.

You’ll have fun

Last but not least, clubs are meant to be fun!

Whether you’re making new friends or doing fun activities, running a club feels like less of an obligation and more of social event or get-together with friends.
