Food Insecurity
No hungry stomachs here! Partnering with the Humber Food Learning Garden, our Farmers Market pop-ups dished out free, fresh produce. Plus, we amplified your concerns at Chartwells’ food forums, where your feedback on campus eats took center stage—because your taste and cravings count!
Time is Money - WIL Campaign
Our Time is Money campaign fights for fair compensation for students’ Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) experiences. We’re pushing Humber and UofGH to mandate compensated opportunities. This campaign spotlights the often-invisible burden of unpaid work and paves the way for future students to access the compensated WIL opportunities they deserve.
Campus Connections
This year, student life was the main character! From Speed Friending to belting it out at the IGNITE Concert, popping into activations or glowing up at Hype Hall, we made sure every moment was memory-making. More than just having fun, these events built friendships and stories worth keeping.

Student Toolkit
Tax Clinic
A free, student-run tax filing service. With 28 students clocking 2046.10 hours, the IGNITE Tax Clinic helped 2,279 Humber and UofGH students to file their taxes with ease and without stress.
Clubs
With 62 IGNITE clubs, there’s a community for every student! Whether you’re into video games, chess or art, IGNITE clubs offer a diverse range of interests and curiosities that are designated to connect like-minded individuals and foster lasting friendships along the way..
Soupbar
Warm bowls = big smiles! IGNITE, Chartwells and students in the faculty of Health Sciences & Wellness served up 13,062 soups packed with nutrients to keep students feeling their best. The IGNITE Soupbar fueled campus life and fought food insecurity, one spoonful at a time.
Sleep Lounge
The ultimate spot to recharge and come back ready to tackle the day. The Sleep Lounge is curated for students to have high-quality naps right on campus. This service supported 5,968 hours of Zzzs, allowing students for fresher, sharper days throughout the semester.
Health and Dental Insurance
Fitness check! With our customized plans tailored to students’ priorities, whether dental care or prescription drugs, IGNITE’s Health and Dental Insurance helped 52, 530 students save on medical and dental expenses from May 1, 2024 – April 31 2025, ensuring that health and wallets were at ease.
Zen Zone
A peaceful retreat designed for relaxation and focus. The Zen Zone is a multi-functional space with cozy bean bags, quiet study corners and meditation hubs to help you get into the zone. 2,763 students recharged, unwound and found their focus at this space.
Glow Bursary
Nobody deserves unpaid internships. Through the Glow Bursary, 280 students received financial support, easing financial strain while also not missing out on gaining real-world experience.
IGNITE Bursary
Full-time domestic or international students on a tight budget? IGNITE Bursary has got your back! 670 students received $500 in financial relief for basic necessities and expenses, easing stress so students can focus on their dreams.
Pride Scholarship
A scholarship celebrating the unique you. The Pride Scholarship supports the unique challenges that the 2SLGBTQ+ community faces, keeping them loud and proud in and out of the classroom. 5 students received scholarships to keep thriving, stay proud and remain unstoppable.
Black Excellence Scholarship
Honouring excellence at Humber and UofGH. The Black Excellence Scholarship recognized 12 students from the Black community for leading change and inspiring futures.
Financial Relief Program (FRP)
When life throws curveballs, the Financial Relief Program (FRP) steps in. 82 students got emergency support when they needed it most, providing crucial support during challenging times.
Learning Essentials Support
Making tools within reach for students, the Learning Essentials Support bears the cost of the resources you need to succeed. 409 students were funded by the grant, equipping them for academic and personal success.
LGBTQ Resource Centre
The centre advocates and works towards building safer, braver and positive spaces where every identity is uplifted and celebrated.
Black Students Support & Engagement
A thriving hub of cultures, connections and empowerment for Black, African and Caribbean students, offering resources and support to provide an inclusive learning environment.
Humber Indigenous Education & Engagement
The centre honours a wide variety of faiths and traditions while creating inclusive spaces where students from diverse backgrounds and beliefs can explore and grow.
Humber Food Learning Garden
Something exciting is sprouting in the school’s backyard — a vibrant, accessible garden bursting with fresh produce! It’s not just a garden, it’s a living classroom where students can dig into the world of sustainable urban agriculture.
Other Partnerships
2024 - 2025 Budget
Revenues consist of both student fees and ancillary income. Student fees are categorized into Membership, Leadership and Advocacy, Well-being and Financial Security, and Social Events and Opportunities. Ancillary income includes commercial revenue, earned interest, and sponsorships. These ancillary revenues help offset expenses within the Membership category. The total expenses are divided across the four student fees categories.
