In partnership with Humber’s Indigenous Education & Engagement (IE&E), IGNITE is proud to introduce the newly established annual IGNITE Indigenous Scholarship.
This scholarship is a small way that IGNITE can help support our Indigenous students who often face a unique set of barriers, such as a higher risk of financial insecurity.
Launching on Monday, Oct. 4, the IGNITE Indigenous Scholarship is a $1,000 grant awarded to five Indigenous students at Humber College or at the University of Guelph-Humber (UofGH) who demonstrate leadership and community involvement.
If you are a current Indigenous student at Humber College or UofGH in at least your second year of study, who is in Good Academic Standing, is in need of financial aid and demonstrates strong leadership qualities and community involvement, here are the steps to apply:
- Fill out the application below
- Complete the IE&E Self-Identification Assessment Form.
- Book a meeting with Liana Canzian, Indigenous Student Advisor to discuss your academic and career goals.
Applications close on Monday, Nov. 1, so don’t hesitate and fill out your application today.
We look forward to announcing the first recipients of the IGNITE Indigenous Scholarship on Monday, Nov. 15 at the IE&E Indigenous Knowledges Gathering.
For any further questions regarding the application process and the scholarship, please email Kristine Galvan, Manager, Leadership & Advocacy.
