So, what’s this election about anyway?​

This election will determine which 9 students will lead IGNITE through 2023-2024 as the Board of Directors. As the student union for Humber and UofGH, IGNITE is led by, and works for students. This election is your chance to foster change on campus, whether by running yourself or voting for the student who shares your values. You have the power to make a difference, and now is your chance!

Why would I want to run?

Hone your leadership skills. Join an amazing team of like-minded students and staff. Make tough – but important – decisions. Grow your professional and personal network and help ensure students leave Humber and UofGH feeling prepared for what is next to come.

What does the board do?

Board members are leaders on campus. Accountable to the student body, they proactively seek student input and feedback, advocate for positive changes, and are responsible for strategic planning and budgeting within IGNITE. As the face of IGNITE, the board are ambassadors within the student community.

Would I make a good candidate?​

Do you have brilliant ideas to help shape our campuses? Are you a hardworking student who excels at time management, organization, and communication? Are you a fearless critical thinkers with a passion for advocacy? Do you love working toward a common goal with others? If so, download a nomination package and enter the race!

I attend IGS. Can I run? Who do I vote for?​

Yes! Students attending Humber’s International Graduate School (IGS) can run as a Lakeshore/IGS candidate, to represent the interests of students from both of those campuses. During voting week, IGS students will vote on the candidates from Lakeshore and IGS to be their representatives.

If yo are a full-time student, not on Academic Probation and have completed at least one semester in a post-secondary program, follow the link below to download the nomination package, and you're on your way!

  • Nominations open – Monday, January 15, 2024 at 9 a.m.
  • Nominations close – Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
  • Candidate information sessions – February 13-14, 2024
  • Campaigning begins – Tuesday, February 20, 2024
  • Voting – Monday, March 4 – Friday, March 8, 2024
  • Winners announced – Friday, March 8, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.
