Be the change!

AT IGNITE, our mission is to enhance your time during your post-secondary journey. We aim to provide services and events to empower you to reach your full potential. We also want to create an environment where you feel supported and valued.

But we can’t do that without your feedback!

We are constantly on the hunt for feedback either through our socials, events and meetings. Then, our Student Advocates, ensure that necessary steps are taken and advocate on your behalf.

Here is why being open and honest with your Student Advocate is super important.

Why you should share your concerns with your Student Advocates?

Student Advocates play a crucial role in enhancing your student life experience. Here’s how:

  1. Bridging the gap between you and your student union – by keeping us informed about your concerns and experiences. Be it financial roadblocks, a need for a quick nap between classes, no concern goes unheard.
  2. Advocating on your behalf – once your concerns are communicated, they are taken up in meetings with senior Humber staff.
  3. Igniting positive change on campus – Their objective is to propose ideas to address the issues you’re facing and advocate for the implementation of solutions!

The delicious soup that often keeps us warm during winters was once an idea, which through proactive efforts by the Humber and UofGH student community and Student Advocates is now a reality.

Now that you’re aware of why you should be honest with your Student Advocates; we encourage you to connect with them and share your concerns.

Advocacy is a crucial pillar of support for you, and your well-being is our top priority as we strive to act in your best interests and assist you in reaching your academic goals.

To make sure we make the feedback process easier for you, we invite you to participate in IGNITE Connect, an event where you can share your concerns with us and Humber and UofGH administration. During the event you will also learn more about our advocacy initiatives, ensuring your student experiences are acknowledged.

You’ll have the chance to get your questions answered and your voices heard.

If you’re passionate about supporting fellow students and being actively involved on campus, consider exploring the Student Advocate role. Additionally, Melany and Jessica will share insights into what it’s like advocating for students’ rights.

Join us on Dec. 4 at the University of Guelph-Humber from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Atrium for an event you won’t want to miss.

Our commitment is to empower your excellence. Engaging in honest and open conversations with your Student Advocates is not only beneficial for enhancing your experience but also helps us tailor our services to your needs, contributing to the development of a stronger student union!
