Every year, IGNITE hosts the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The reason for this meeting is to make sure Humber College and the University of Guelph-Humber students are in the loop about what IGNITE has been up to over the year – in the meeting, students are involved and responsible for voting in key decisions.
At the AGM, IGNITE shares an Impact Report sneak peak, gives information on the next year’s budget, presents the accomplishments for the year and approves the newly elected Board of Directors.
This is what our agenda looks like:
- Approval of minutes of the Special Meeting of the Members September 2023
- Motion to ratify the results of the 2024 Election
- Video presentation of 2023-2024 IGNITE Impact Report
- Presentation of IGNITE 2024-2025 Budget
- Approval of BDO Canada LLP as the 2024-2025 Financial Auditors
We know that meetings can sometimes run up and appetite, but you know us, we always find a way to make it fun! We’ll be giving away $25 Uber Eats gift cards to the first 150 students who sign up and attend the event in full. Just remember, you’ve got to stick around until the end of the meeting to snag your prize. Approve the IGNITE Board of Directors
The IGNITE Election’s Voting Week took place from Monday, March 4, to Friday, March 8. On that same Friday, after counting the votes and gathering the results, we revealed the winners of the 2024 IGNITE Election.
During the AGM, you and your fellow peers will have the chance to ratify the newly elected Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 school year. This is an important opportunity as they’ll be the ones representing and advocating for you.
Impact Report
At the AGM, we will share with you some of our accomplishments for the year. We’ll be showing a video presentation of some highlights of our 2023-2024 IGNITE Impact Report. The full report will be available in April 2024.
In there, we share everything IGNITE-related, such as social media numbers, employee representation and how IGNITE supported students through events, services and scholarships.
Attending the AGM and learning more about the Impact Report is a firsthand opportunity for you to understand how IGNITE supports your student life.
What to expect for next year
In the meeting, IGNITE will be sharing its budget for the 2024-2025 academic year.
It’s important for you to understand this budget because it gives you insight into how IGNITE spends money. By learning more about IGNITE financials, you can get a sneak peek into the events, number of scholarships available, student assistant programs and other exciting stuff IGNITE has in store for next year.
