Now, we already know you’re a leader, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t develop this skill further. And, if you want to continuously feel empowered, becoming a Director is the way to go.
Being a Director means you will help navigate IGNITE’s organizational direction by working proactively to seek student input and feedback. As a leader for your student body, you will help make positive changes to benefit students and play an active role within our organization.
Learn to make tough decisions
Making tough, but important, decisions is a big part of being an IGNITE Director. Being empowered to make these decisions will help you develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and confidence – all things that will help you in your future career!
During monthly Board meetings, you will be asked to vote on various motions that impact IGNITE’s operations. You will be counted on to help approve new initiatives and will be responsible for approving budgets.

As a director on IGNITE’sBoard, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your network by working and connecting with like-minded students, staff and stakeholders.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all members of the IGNITE staff, including the Board of Directors, have been working remotely whenever possible. Whether this remote working environment continues next year or we’re back on campus, we promise that you will be gaining experience in a professional setting.
As an IGNITE Board Director, you’ll be responsible for participating in monthly Board meetings, attending media briefings on behalf of IGNITE, and maintaining constant professional communication with the student body and the staff within our organization – and more.
It’s basically professionalism 101 with IGNITE!
