Get ready because our semesterly event is back for the winter term. IGNITE Connect is now set to happen at the Humber College North Campus!
Think of IGNITE Connect as a town hall, a safe space where you can speak your mind. The IGNITE full-time staff and student advocates will be there to answer your questions, chat with you and listen to what you’ve got to say.
Apart from sharing with you our advocacy initiatives and services, we want to know what’s on your mind, what’s working for you and what could be better.

Share your concerns, ask questions and foster change
Who knows what’s going on at the college better than the students themselves, right?
In order to better suit your needs, IGNITE relies on listening to student feedback. You’ve probably received emails from us asking for your thoughts, and let me tell you, we do love hearing from you.
At IGNITE Connect, you’ll have the chance to talk directly with IGNITE full-time staff and student advocates. This is your opportunity to tell us what you think needs to change, what’s not quite working right and even what we’re doing well and should keep investing in. If you’ve got any questions about your student life, our experts will be there to help!
Staying in touch with your student union and constantly sharing your feedback are important duties you have as a student because your voice has the power to foster change for the better.

Health and Dental Insurance Plan, Soupbar, Zen Zone, Tax Clinic… and so much more. IGNITE offers so many services that sometimes it’s hard to keep track of everything.
IGNITE has tons of resources available to students to make use of. Swinging by IGNITE Connect is the perfect opportunity to learn more about all the programs and services we offer. As an IGNITE Student Advocate, you’ll be right in the heart of the action, participating in conversations with staff and faculty to ensure students’ voices are not only heard but respected. You’ll be actively advocating for students and making decisions that directly impact their post-secondary experience.

What do IGNITE Student Advocates think about IGNITE Connect?
Melany Palacios-Naranjo and Jessica Carrera are the current IGNITE Student Advocates. They are always involved in the student community and advocate on behalf of students. You’ve probably seen them around at IGNITE events, they are always there!
Palacios-Naranjo says that students play a big role in how the college works. She says IGNITE Connect is the perfect opportunity for students to voice any concerns and provide feedback for any of IGNITE’s initiatives.
“I always say that your university/college experience goes beyond just academics and it’s really about memories that you carry for the rest of your life, so it’s our goal to make the most of it however we can,” Palacios-Naranjo said.
Whether you want to learn more about IGNITE or you’ve got something on your mind concerning your student life, IGNITE Connect is the place to be! It’s the perfect event for getting informed, sharing your thoughts and connecting with our staff.
So mark your calendars! On April 3, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. in the IGNITE Student Centre. Stop by the event and share all your thoughts with us!
We know that all that talking can make you thirsty, so we’ll be serving light refreshments throughout the event to keep you fueled up and ready to chat.
So come hungry for knowledge and thirsty for drinks, we can’t wait to see you there!
