What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the brand “Nike?”
Just do it.
The slogan was first coined in 1987 and has now been used for years to promote Nike products in most campaigns.
The truth is…what does “Just do it” really mean and how can you apply this slogan to your life?
Well, here are IGNITE’s tips on how YOU can embody “Just do it” energy.
Stop procrastinating
We all do it. Procrastinating studying, working, cleaning and everything in-between. Next time you know you need to get something done “Just do it.”
Start chasing your dreams
Often, you will hear people talk about their future dreams saying “once I get this, I’ll start.” Stop waiting, start today.
Sometimes you think you need to have everything figured out to start a business or pick a new career path, but you don’t. You just need to start.
Get in the gym
Everyone always says that they want to exercise more or they make a New Year’s resolution to join a gym, but they often don’t follow through with their actions.
Take this as your sign to “Just do it.”
Join that gym, go for that run or do that yoga! It’s better to start sooner than later and luckily Humber’s North and Lakeshore campus offer free facilities!
Plan that vacation
If you’ve been thinking about going on vacation during your reading week or when you’re on holiday, now is your chance. Although it may be expensive you need a break from school. Life is to be lived.
Plus, there are always some more budget-friendly travel options out there, you just have to do your research.
Put yourself out there
Making friends isn’t always easy, but it can be easier if you apply the “Just do it” mentality. Strike up a conversation with one of your classmates or a co-worker that maybe you haven’t really chatted with before. And remember, just be yourself and don’t worry about being embarrassed.
Who knows you might just make a friend for life!
What are you waiting for? The world is your basketball court, track field, ice rink… so “Just do it.”
Waking up is hard, but sometimes you need to “Just do it.” Here’s how waking up early can improve your mental health.
