One vote can ignite a world of change.

Voting is one of those rare moments in life where your voice truly matters. Whether you’re casting your vote for a local leader or choosing the future of your campus community, there’s power in making that decision.

But let’s be real—voting doesn’t always have to feel like a chore. This semester, why not turn your vote into a fun group activity with your friends?

That’s right, the IGNITE Election is coming and you have the chance to make that day special for yourself!

Grab your friends, head to the voting station and make voting a memorable experience.

Voting is usually a solo thing—you head to the booth or click online and it’s done. But this time, why not grab a few friends and turn it into a mini adventure?

Voting together gives you a chance to chat about the candidates, compare your thoughts and make a few new decisions based on what others say. Whether you’re at the voting station or getting ready to vote online, doing it with your friends makes the whole experience more fun and less of a chore.

So, reach out to your crew, pick a day to vote and head to the polls together. You’ll be more informed, have a good time and make memories in the process.

It’s also a good way to make sure no one forgets to vote! You know, friends always keep each other in check.

Support your friends running for elections

We all know someone who’s running for the IGNITE Board of Directors or other student leadership positions. Whether it’s a friend, classmate or someone you admire, supporting your friends during the election is a huge part of the campus experience.

By voting for them, you’re not just casting your ballott—you’re helping someone you care about reach their goals. And if they win, it’s a win for all of you!

Having friends run for office—or just that person you support—can make the whole election feel more personal. You get to cheer them on, offer words of encouragement and show them that you believe in their vision for the campus.

When you vote, remember the people who’ve worked hard to get here and help make their dreams come true. Your vote could be the one that gets them closer to making a real difference on campus.

Grab snacks!

Who doesn’t love snacks? Here’s the deal: After you cast your vote, you get to reward yourself with a free treat!

Vote at an on-campus booth, or show proof of online voting, and you’ll get to snag a snack to make your day that much sweeter.

Vote, chill and hang out with your friends!

Voting isn’t just about choosing candidates—it’s also a great opportunity to hang out with your friends and make it something fun!

Whether you’re at the voting station on campus or just hanging nearby, take the time to catch up with your crew. Swap funny class stories, complain about the never-ending homework or start planning something epic for the weekend.

You might even turn it into a mini-debate over who has the best taste in music or the most outrageous class moments.

And don’t forget, chatting with your friends about your vote can give you fresh perspectives and help you think about things you might have missed.

So, don’t rush through it—take your time, enjoy the conversation and make voting an experience that’s fun and meaningful!

Voting is super easy, and here’s how you can make it happen:

  • All fee-paying students are eligible to vote, but you’ll need to choose a candidate who is running for the campus you attend.
  • If you want to vote in person, head over to the voting station on your campus (North, Lakeshore, UofGH or downtown). They’ll be open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from Feb. 24 to Feb. 28. If you prefer voting online, just use the Simply Voting platform and you can vote whenever is convenient for you during the election period.
  • Whether you’re at a station or voting online, pick the candidate you want to vote for. It’s a simple process and requires only a few minutes!

So, what are you waiting for? Mark your calendars for the week of Feb. 24, gather your friends and make this year’s elections the most fun you’ve ever had!

See you at the polls!
