You’ve got on-campus resources at your fingertips, here to assist you every step of the way!

It’s that time of the year – final exams are here. The campus is buzzing with students hustling, some pulling all-nighters in the library, and dark circles under the eyes are practically a badge of honour. There should be research on this; it’s like we’re aiming for the Guinness World Record for the greatest number of dark circles present in one place!

We understand that the final stretch of the semester can feel like a marathon of assignments and exams, with everyone running for that high GPA. During this time of the year, any help is welcome.

That’s why we’ve curated a list of on-campus resources to give you that extra boost you need to ace those finals and finish the year strong.

If you find yourself grappling with a complex math problem or perhaps you’re staring at an intimidating 2,500-word essay wondering how to structure it effectively, fear not, this is the perfect resource for you.

The Math and Writing Centre has tutors ready to help you with a wide range of topics such as technical math, business math, statistics and more. If you’re an accounting student, consider this your second home!

On the creative front, the writing tutors provide support with grammar, essay development, research skills and even offer help for international students mastering English as a Second Language.

If you’re an engineering student at the north campus, you’re in luck! They also have engineering tutors who provide personalized one-on-one and group tutorial sessions, ready to tackle math and physics courses alongside you.

The Math and Writing Centre is located at both the north and lakeshore campuses. If you go to the University of Guelph-Humber, you can also make use of the service. Book your appointment today for free!

If you’re finding a course particularly challenging, you have the opportunity to connect for free with a peer tutor for assistance.

You can schedule up to three hours of Peer Tutoring each week. These sessions are flexible, allowing you to choose between meeting in person on campus or online via real-time audio, video, chat and whiteboard. Just remember, you have to make your booking at least two days before your desired session.

During your one-on-one session, you can bring your notes, textbooks and assignments. However, the tutor won’t complete your assignments for you, they’ll provide valuable guidance and support to help you overcome your academic difficulties.
