Grab your gloves!

As the temperature begins to slowly drop and the first chilly breeze shows up, it’s time to get that cool winter jacket out and embrace the magic of cold weather! For most of us, it’s more than just a transition between summer and spring, it’s a unique and beautiful time to welcome a lot of exciting activities and get into our cozy hoodies.

Here are our favourite reasons to get excited for the cold weather:

Cozy up in style

Fall fashion is a whole vibe! For students it is all about balancing style with comfort which is perfect for those long school days. It’s your chance to embrace those oversized sweaters, cozy hoodies and a pair of warm boots. Don’t forget to layer up cause it’s more important to stay warm!

It’s OK if you feel like a human burrito, make that burrito stylish! Honestly, nothing is better than watching the beautiful fallen leaves, with a good book in hand and a mug of hot coffee. Reading week is coming up soon and it’s the perfect time to delve into some new stories. Also, the crisp air makes it a great time to go for walks and appreciate the beauty of nature.

Plus, fall brings fun events like pumpkin picking and Halloween, making it a season full of excitement!

Come get your soups!

Embrace the skating season

One of the best joys of cold weather in Toronto is ice skating! From the ever-wonderful Nathan Phillips Square to the scenic Harbourfront Centre, there’s absolutely no shortage of spots to get on those skates and slide across the ice. If you’re a Humber Lakeshore student, you’re in luck! The Colonel Samuel Smith Skating Trail is right next door, offering a perfect winter escape.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned skater or a beginner, you should definitely give ice skating a try. Always keep in mind that falling is just part of the process. Plus, after a few laps on the ice, you can always grab some hot chocolate from the nearest cafe.
