“Your energy in the morning is a clean slate, and you get a chance each day to build it up the way you want.”

Mridula Singh

All my life I have struggled to stick to a timetable! I tried allocating my time to different activities throughout the day, but I was never able to stick to it. Long story short, I decided to stick to a morning routine instead.

And establishing a morning routine has helped me a lot and it can also help you to get a good start to your day.

A morning routine gives your day direction and structure. Moreover, it increases productivity, reduces stress, improves mental health and contributes to a better night’s sleep.

Now that you know the benefits, let’s jump on creating a morning routine.

Recognize your goals

Setting goals is the first step in developing a morning routine. Think of the things you wish to accomplish like working out, practicing meditation, reading, or getting more homework done. Now, prioritize the goals according to your necessities.

Determine your wake-up time

Once you’ve determined your goals, decide what time you need to wake up to accomplish them. For instance, if you want to go on a morning walk, make sure you have enough time to come back home and get ready for classes. This will ensure that you have enough time to finish your regimen without feeling rushed.

Make a schedule

Now that you know when to wake up, it will be wise to set aside a set amount of time for each task in your morning schedule. It’s easier said than done, but you have to gather your willpower to make it happen.

And don’t forget to retain time for self-care activities such as meditation too!

Stick to it

There will be some days when you won’t feel like following your routine, but remember that consistency is the key. Stick to your routine every day to make it a habit. Over time, your routine will become second nature, and you’ll start to feel the benefits of starting your day off on the right foot.

Remember to start small with just one or two activities that you are highly interested in and gradually add more as the routine becomes habitual.

Don’t forget to be adaptable, find what works best for you, and don’t hesitate to change your schedule as needed. You can lead a more successful and meaningful life with a little perseverance and effort. Maybe now with a new morning routine, you won’t dread the sound of your alarm clock in the morning!
