Here are our top picks for the best photo locations around campus so you can get those Instagram-worthy shots.

Lakeshore campus’ L building

The Humber Lakeshore campus’ L building is one of the newly built additions to the premises, opening in 2011. Its glass exterior gives the college a modern feel, bringing in the day and night to its inner walls.

Take advantage of how this building is designed. Anywhere is a great spot, but our top favorite is on the third floor. Once you step out of the elevator, you can find a lounge area on the left side. The space gives an amazing view of the grounds, perfect for photos or when you need to chill out.

Pro tip: the best time to take your pictures is during sunset, when the ray of sunlight hits through those glass walls. You can play with the sunlight to add more dramatic highlights and shadows to your photos!

Lakeshore campus’ G building

Want some framing action in your pictures? G building is the perfect spot!

The G building is distinguishable from the other buildings on the Lakeshore campus because of its mix of old and new. Make your way to the back of the building and you’ll find an arch entryway where the classic frame shot can be achieved.

The curved design is famous for that frame-within-a-frame shot. You can channel the Victorian-style era or Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” music video on this one. No matter your mood, it definitely makes for a more interesting picture!

Colonel Samuel Smith Park

Just a few steps from the Lakeshore campus is Colonel Samuel Smith Park, a haven for both nature and dog lovers. Its rich greenery and views of Lake Ontario make it a perfect place to destress and take an Instagram-worthy photo.

The scenic trail is a go-to spot for pet owners to walk their dogs or for friends to enjoy a picnic by the water. Aside from dog photos, the Alice-in-Wonderland aura of the park ensures an Instagram-worthy shot at any time of the day.

Our top pick in the park is the beach side, where you get a picturesque shot of downtown Toronto from afar as your background. The famous Whimbrel Point is also a nice spot where you can find a signpost that features the distance of the point’s location to famous cities around the world.

We recommend visiting the park multiple times a year. You’ll find that it offers a different atmosphere for every season you visit. Plus, a walk in nature is better with receipts! Take a deep breath or take a few pictures – we encourage both!

North Campus peeps, look no further than the back of your campus! The Humber Arboretum is a sanctuary for Humber students to do some summer activities or simply enjoy a day well spent.

The perfectly landscaped garden is also giving major Bridgerton vibes! It offers lush greenery and floral blooms, which are very evident in spring and summer. Combined, they are perfect for striking that Instagram-worthy pose.

The Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation at the North campus is designed to be an innovation powerhouse. Like what the facility stands for, BCTI’s unique interior personifies its innovative stamp.

Its ground floor is home to a public space that features a set of triangular stairs where students can lounge around. This is an ideal place to catch up with friends, do some group brainstorming and you guess it right – snap that Instagram-worthy shot!
