Have a soup-earful day

Let’s face it, having a long day of classes and having to worry about dinner can be stressful. I’m sure you’re only thinking of getting some rest, which is totally fair.

Well, you could have something warm, hearty and delicious! There’s a world of soups for you to explore. Whether it’s classics like pumpkin soup or something unique like lasagna soup, you can never go wrong with having a bowl of soup. Especially on those long days of classes.

And here’s the best part – You can elevate your meal by pairing it with amazing side dishes. Not only do they add an extra burst of flavour, but they also turn your soup into a wholesome, satisfying meal. Here are four fantastic side dish ideas.

Name a better duo than garlic bread and pasta. Well, if you haven’t guessed it right, it’s garlic bread and tomato soup. I know it sounds strange, but trust me on this.

It’s perfect for soup dunking and savouring your soup. Plus the added texture and flavour will have you asking for a second bowl.

Seasoned potato wedges

I don’t know about you, but I love some good French fries.

Potatoes go well with any meal. Not to mention soup, such as beef barley. However, for the ultimate delight, pair your beef barley soup with seasoned potato wedges.

It’s easy to make and requires a few ingredients namely:

  • olive oil
  • seasoning (seasoned salt, paprika and garlic powder)
  • potatoes of course

Bake them in the oven until crispy and golden brown and enjoy it your warm bowl of soup.

I’m sure we’re all familiar with fresh oven-baked biscuits. Oh how soft and buttery they are, just imagine if we served them with a bowl of soup. Imagine the ultimate comfort-food meal!

Essentially, you’d be enjoying the buttery flavour from the biscuits along with a hearty broth, all in one bite.

Arugula salad
