Wait, there’s more?
By now, students are familiar with most of the perks that come with being a Humber Polytechnic and University of Guelph-Humber student. Soupbar, free magazines and health coverage are just the tip of the iceberg. See more amazing perks you receive as a current student here.
Those perks don’t end when the hats go flying through the air, though. The perks keep coming even as a graduate.
UofGH graduates have the added benefit of receiving all of Humber’s benefits as well as their own.
Before you can access them, though, UofGH and Humber graduates will have to sign up for a Humber Alumni Connect account and UofGH graduates will also receive an alumni card for their benefits automatically when they graduate. Get ready for the world to become your oyster.
Discounts

Ready to feel like the person in the photo? Let’s start with the fun stuff. Humber and UofGH graduates get access to various discounted attractions, stores, tech and food, even meal kit deliveries.
Here are some notable offers available to both UofGH and Humber graduates right now:
- Exclusive Bell offers.
- Twenty per cent off your next Best Western vacation.
- For the sports fanatics, discounts on the Hamilton Tiger Cats and twenty per cent off Hockey Hall of Fame tickets.
- Various offers on Medieval Times, the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) and Ripley’s Aquarium.
- Fifty per cent off your boating license.
- The Brick furniture discounts.
- And 50 per cent off at the Young Drivers of Canada driving school.
There are more benefits where that came from. They may rotate throughout the years, but the discounts will keep on coming.
Insurance

It’s time to start adulting for real. Good thing you can flaunt your new graduate status around, without carrying your diploma or degree, and get more savings, even on the boring (but necessary) stuff.
Home, car and health insurance are all on the table. Especially during a time when you’ll need them the most. Feel like an independent adult yet? Onward to your next adventure.
Career services

Speaking of your next adventure, adults need career help, too. UofGH will have career counselling for life. So, whatever awaits you, you’ll be able to come back where it all started and get help.
Humber graduates still have access to career counselling for two years after they graduate. Just in the nick of time to secure a job. At any point in your career, though, you’ll be able to receive discounted counselling through Devant’s career services if you need it again.
Library and bookstore

When the dust settles and books no longer remind you of studying, you’ll want to start reading for fun again. The municipal library may have a lot, but you’ll have access to even more.
Humber’s library has video games, magazines and books all available to graduates for life.
Now that you’ll have some money coming in, the Humber bookstore is available to help start your home library. Receive up to 10 per cent off and be prepared to be drowned in books, in a good way.
Gym

Humber’s gym is still available after graduation as well. For current students, this is free, but graduates receive savings that will outdo any other gym.
This may be your calling to use the time you have left as a trial before getting your membership started.
Savings on one-year memberships are ready and at your disposal. Check out the membership pricing for the Lakeshore Fitness Centre and the North Fitness Centre.
Events

Humber and UofGH graduates receive offers to attend fun events for free throughout the year as well.
Recently, Blues Jays tickets were given away, all to come and support the alumni program.
Don’t think the benefits will ever stop. After graduating, the alumni advancement team will be in touch to remind you to sign up for these glorious offers and upcoming events for graduates to continue their Humber or UofGH journey.
If this year is your last, start signing up now to get the best discounts. Go into your first summer as a graduate strong.
