STUDENT REPRESENTATION

At IGNITE, students and their representation are crucial. Our Student Advocates bridge the gap between students and the student union, ensuring that their needs are met. The Board of Directors, elected annually by students, makes a real difference by advocating for positive change.

LEADERSHIP & ADVOCACY

Need or Greed Campaign

The Need or Greed campaign was an advocacy movement aimed at addressing the high cost of tuition for international students. IGNITE, along with other Ontario college student unions, organized a peaceful protest at Queen’s Park on Nov. 17, 2022. The campaign was aimed at challenging government officials and post-secondary institutions to mend their actions toward international students. IGNITE is committed to helping international students by advocating for a tuition freeze. The campaign highlighted the importance of affordable education and the need to support international students in their pursuit of higher education.
