Ujiri's name is almost as recognizable as some of the Raptor's star players. His top-notch leadership decisions like trading DeMar DeRozan for star Kawhi Leonard, to drafting players like Pascal Siakam, have led him to be largely credited in helping the Raptors win their first NBA championship in 2019.
Ujiri is not only a great leader for the Toronto Raptors but also a leader in many other areas of his career. In 2003, he founded the Giants of Africa foundation to discover basketball talent and use the sport as a pathway to educate and enrich the lives of African youth. Additionally, Ujiri has served as director of the NBA's Basketball Without Borders Africa program, which promotes basketball throughout the continent and encourages positive social change in education, health, and wellness.
