You’ve probably heard about speed dating before, but what about speed friending?
We know that being a first-year student can be intimidating. You most likely don’t know anyone, you’re starting your post-secondary journey at a new school and maybe even moving out of your parents’ home. We get it, it’s challenging.
One thing that can significantly enhance your post-secondary experience is having a friend – or friends – you can rely on.
That’s why every semester, IGNITE hosts Speed Friending, an event designed to help you make connections and, potentially, find your new best friend.
Are you bad at breaking the ice? Don’t worry, we’ve prepared a variety of get-to-know-you games and activities to facilitate conversations between strangers.
If you’re a first-year student starting this fall, join us on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. at the IGS511 on the 5 floor for an event full of other first-year students and long-lasting connections!

How can I register?
No pre-registration is required! Just swing by the North campus gymnasium and the IGNITE brand ambassadors will be there to sign you up for the fun!
