Financial Relief Program

Our Financial Relief Program (FRP) is here to help students when an unexpected emergency financial situation arises. There are many things that can constitute a financial emergency, some examples include:

• Being kicked out of home/imminent homelessness
• Physical and/or health issues
• Child care issues
• Abuse

The program offers short-term assistance to full-time students and it’s all confidential. Check out the financial relief program if you ever find yourself in an emergency situation. Applications for the Fall semester launch on Monday, Oct. 3.

Learning Essentials Support

Funding your education can add to your list of worries as a student. That’s why IGNITE offers the Learning Essentials Support bursary to help lighten the financial burden.

IGNITE’s Learning Essentials Support helps cover the additional costs of your program’s learning requirements from $50 up to $500.

Examples of learning essential items that we support include, but are not limited to:

• Equipment (uniforms, tool kits, cosmetic kits, etc.)
• Software (MyITLab access, etc.)
• Training & Professional Memberships (Suicide Prevention Training, Soundscan membership, etc.)
• Experiential (final projects, field trips, etc.)

Health and dental insurance

Have a toothache that won’t let you rest? Or a bruise that won’t heal? We’ve got your back!

At IGNITE, we have a balanced plan to help care for your dental and health needs.

Your Fall 2022 tuition automatically enrolls you in the health and dental plan. However, if you have other insurance and wish to opt out you can visit www.wespeakstudent.com before Oct. 14 at 4:00 p.m.

Dispute Resolution Clinic

Be it issues on campus that are causing you stress or issues in your personal life; you can reach out to us for help.

In partnership with Humber College, IGNITE has set up a dispute resolution clinic to help you navigate challenging situations.

You can book a virtual appointment via Zoom on Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. 

Social events and opportunities

We are constantly working on ways to make your post-secondary life extra exciting and to provide you with ways to take a much needed break from school work.
