Graduation season is coming up for some of us, and with it comes the ultimate test of expression: the grad photo.

So, what does your grad picture pose say about you?

The classic smile

You can never go wrong with a classic smile. You’re simple, polished, grounded and have been waiting for this moment since orientation. Your smile radiates pure accomplishment and relief (because let’s be honest, it wasn’t easy getting here). No props, no filters and no drama—just you, your cap and a bright smile.

You probably had your outfit ironed and ready the night before, and your notes app filled with possible Instagram captions like “The tassel was worth the hassle” or “The best is yet to come.”

The peace sign

Going hand in hand with the classic thumbs up pose, the peace sign is effortlessly chill and unapologetically yourself. You’re the kind of person who made it through post-secondary with one part humour and one part caffeine. You spent your time complaining about that one professor, while actively doing their assignments (don’t worry, we’ve all been there).

The peace sign says, “I did it, don’t know what I learned, but let’s not talk about how.”

You love keeping things light and you’re probably already joking about adulting 101. Your Insta caption includes, “Was this due at 11:59 p.m.?”

The over-the-shoulder

Dramatic. Cinematic. And most definitely confident. You know your angles, your lighting and how to give just the right amount of mystery. You’re walking into your future with your head high catching the perfect glint of sunlight (Bonus if it’s during golden hour).

You’re the type to post this photo with a caption, quoting Elle Wood like, “What, like it’s hard?”

The jump shot

The “I’m finally done” and just pure joy in photo form. You’re all about excitement, great energy and celebrating every win. You hype everyone up before the camera clicks and definitely kept the group projects motivated by humour.

Life with you is never boring—you bring the fun, the playlists and always got middle seats on spontaneous road trips.

The cap toss

You probably practiced the perfect toss with your friends and laughed when it didn’t go as planned. You live for the big moments and use the cap toss to symbolize your joy and your “Finally, I made it” energy.

You’re the kind of person who celebrates everything because you know how far you’ve come (and you deserve it!).

The power pose
