Ready to make your decision?

Meet your 2024-2025 IGNITE Board of Directors

Take control of the on-campus student experience with IGNITE.

Students know themselves best. That’s why IGNITE wants your voice to be the one that’s heard and help make a lasting impact at Humber and the University of Guelph-Humber. By running for the upcoming IGNITE Election yourself or voting for another student who shares your values, you can determine the ten seats that will shape our next Board of Directors.

Every voice matters and IGNITE needs students just like you to help shape our campuses together, either as a candidate or voter.

Run

If you’re not afraid to speak your mind, frequently find yourself taking leadership roles in different aspects of your life and have fresh ideas about how we can elevate the student experience together, you’ve found the right place. In addition, you will have to meet these requirements:

  • be a full-time student
  • be in good standing (not on academic probation)
  • have completed at least one semester in a post-secondary program (either at Humber or another school)

Consider running for a seat on the board of directors and help us change current and future students’ experiences on campus. To learn how to apply, follow the “How to get involved” section.

Vote

Even if running for the board isn’t your thing, you still have a big role to play: learn all about your campus candidates during the campaigning period Tuesday, February 4, 2025 – Thursday, February 13, 2025, and vote for the person who best reflects your values during Voting Week, Monday, February 24, 2025 – Friday, February 28, 2025. Remember, all fee-paying students can vote in the election but you’ll have to choose your candidate based on what campus you attend.

How can I run for a position? What do I need?

To participate in the upcoming IGNITE Election, you can follow these steps:

  1. Download and fill out the nomination package
  2. Read the election policy
  3. Collect nomination signatures from students from your campus.
  4. Submit your candidate package

Once you’ve been confirmed as a candidate, campaigning begins on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. This is your chance to connect with other students who share your values, goals and ideas for shaping a better campus. Let your leadership and ideas shine!

Take control of your student experience

Winning a seat on IGNITE’s Board of Directors has so many benefits:

  • sharpen your leadership, decision-making, and communication skills;
  • grow your professional network and personal social circles;
  • ensure that the student voice is heard when major decisions are made by IGNITE, Humber and UofGH;
  • all while being part of a team of like-minded people who are working together to improve student life.
