Students bring back fashion as a statement of self-expression!
Fashion is more than just trends and ostentatious clothes—it’s a form of expression that lets you be yourself. Put together a couple of accessories, stylish clothes and a creative mind, and the result can be brilliant.
Some of you have outdone yourselves with the outfits you’ve worn in the past few weeks. In this Street Styles edition, students showcased their true identity through their fashion and proved how powerful style can be.
From vintage ’50s-inspired looks to bold streetwear, get ready to see some of the best-dressed students on campus.
Sofia Dionigi, advertising and graphic design

Almost a graduate, Sofia Dionigi is a Pinterest board that has come to life. As a former fashion arts and business student, her fashion sense is impeccable.
Dionigi described her style as a mix of vintage thrifted pieces with trendy ’90s fashion. Her curated outfits, featuring thrifted finds, silver and gold accessories and unconventional prints, create her unique style.
Dionigi, an undercover introvert, said fashion is a space where she can express her creativity unapologetically.
“If I put effort into how I look, people would get an understanding of who I am,” Dionigi said.
The student also reflects that as a teenager, she used to dress like a tomboy, but as she gained confidence, she began experimenting with her style and found her identity.
Most of her fashion inspiration comes from old movies, ’90s rom-coms, fashion shows and trend forecasting platforms like WGSN.
Jonah Vines, music

Second-year music aficionado Jonah Vines is also a fashion enthusiast. He takes street style to the next level by incorporating ’50s classic pieces into his wardrobe.
Vines said he is a fan of leather jackets, Gilmore Girls style — if you know, you know — and clothes that give off a fall vibe, such as sweaters seen in the movie Good Will Hunting.
Throughout the years, Vines has said goodbye to past “bad outfits” and welcomed new styles that make him feel confident and ready to tackle the day.
He shared that even though his outfits are very minimalistic, especially when it comes to accessories, he wants to start experimenting with patterns and colours like many people he sees around campus.
Cece Aliu, advertising and marketing communications

Cece Aliu is a fashionista on display who imposes good style wherever she goes.
Aliu is a fan of streetwear and Bratz look-alike outfits. She blends one-of-a-kind pieces like fur boots, matching sets and crop tops to make her feel confident. And let’s not forget her statement jewelry pieces like her “C” necklace. Let me just say it, it’s showstopping!
The glow that Aliu radiates comes not only from her iconic Y2K style but also from herself.
“You look how you feel,” she said, and dressing up makes her feel beautiful.
From Aliu, we learn that being sure of yourself is the ultimate accessory for a killer outfit.
Tahira Siddiqa, social and community services

First-year student Tahira Siddiqa is another street-style lover who combines her chic, elegant side with baggy clothes.
Siddiqa said she dresses according to her mood, choosing whatever makes her feel sure of herself. Recently, that’s meant embracing classy clothes with refined silhouettes, such as long dresses, trench coats and “CEO” attire.
“I dress up to be presentable for myself.”
Tahira Siddiqa.
The student also mentioned she loves dark palettes with navy blue, burgundy and brown colours. And to complete her timeless wardrobe, she adds gold accessories from her recommended store, Lovisa.
Mark Tyshkevych, acting for stage and screen

Newly elected member of the IGNITE Board of Directors, Mark Tyshkevych, is already making his mark on campus.
Tyshkevych follows the smart casual style, most known as business casual. Consisting of semi-formal clothes with streetwear accents and classy accessories. He described his approach to fashion as “simple with a taste.”
“Clothing is how I express myself creatively. It represents my inner state, thoughts and feelings.”
Mark Tyshkevych.
When Tyshkevych was younger, he did not care much about fashion, but as he grew up, he became interested in finding his personal style. Now, he has a clear aesthetic influenced by his European roots and fashion influencers like philip.sbrt.
