Show your pride and your allyship by celebrating the 2SLGBTQ+ community at IGNITE’s very first Pride Real Talks on June 24 at 1 p.m. featuring Bretman Rock and Margaret Cho! Moderated by Priyanka, winner of Canada’s Drag Race, we will be discussing the importance of representation, resiliency and community. And we believe through education and meaningful conversations like these, together we can continue the fight for equality and acceptance.
Now, a little bit about our guests!
Bretman Rock is a popular Filipino-American singer, songwriter, actor, actress. athlete, activist, scientist on the side, the star of crystal of the dayayayyayay, and coconut water connoisseur. Famously known for his career as a beauty influencer and content creator, Rock has most recently become the star of his own reality television show, MTV’s following: Bretman Rock. His reason for doing the show? To provide more representation for the Filipino 2SLGTBQ+ community, something he didn’t see growing up.
As for Margaret Cho, she is an Asian-American comedian, actress, musician, advocate, fashion designer and author. Oh, not to mention a five-time Grammy and Emmy award nominee and winner of the first-ever Best-Comedy Performance Award at the Asian Excellence Awards. She has used her comedic platform to address political and societal issues and continues to be an outspoken member and ally for the 2SLGTBQ+ community.
