February is Black History Month. A time to recognize influential Black individuals that fought throughout history to make the world a better place, and more racially just place.
This year we’re celebrating the triumphs Black people have made by partnering with The BASE (Black Academic Success and Engagement) for a virtual Black Excellence Conference.
The conference will include a roundtable discussion by inspirational speakers to highlight Black excellence and resiliency and teach you how to claim space in your industry.
Moderated by Lionel Campbell, we are lucky to have these influential individuals share their stories and insights with us:
- Kimberlee Shelley – author, minister, former delegate for Jamaica through the Diversity Advancement Network (2017–2018), The Black Canadian Queen – Brampton (2017), and Woman On Fire – Community Activist Award Winner (2018)
- Dahlia “DJ Rosegold” Palmer – DJ, producer and event curator, and founder of The House of Milo; a one-stop-shop media agency specializing in creative events and execution of creative visions
- Sepo Achampong – Visionary Director of Black Owned Unity; an online marketplace aimed at allowing Black-owned businesses to thrive and support each other across North America
