Alexa, play the Phineas and Ferb theme song.
We’ve been self-isolating for nearly five months now. Five. Can you believe it? Yet, time flew by because somehow we’ve made it to August.
We know this summer has been kind of a bummer but on the bright side, we’ve learned so much in our time indoors. From resume-worthy skills to financial literacy, or even how to make the most of Facetime with a side of Netflix Party. And though we aren’t on campus to serve you your regular dose of fresh popcorn, we hope you’re enjoying some from home.
As August rolls around, you may be looking for some new and exciting things to add to your to-do list, so we’re here to help. We’ve compiled a list of events that are sure to make your last month of summer so much better. After all, just because we’re social distancing doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy our final month of freedom.
Make August 2020 a memorable one by attending these fun virtual events:
Humber & UofGH

August 10-21, 2020 | Humber Office of Sustainability Waste Audit

Are you trying to find new ways to live more sustainably? Do you want to minimize your ecological footprint all without stepping foot out of the house? Then you should participate in Humber Office of Sustainability‘s Waste Audit @ Home! This week-long challenge aims to educate students on their environmental impact and inspire them to waste less.
Once you sign up, you’ll receive an easy-to-use online excel sheet to help you track all your trash! At the end of the week, you’ll have the opportunity to assess where you might’ve gone wrong and how to improve in the future. Plus, the experience will make you mindful of how much waste you produce on a daily basis. As an added incentive, the contest winner will receive a $100 gift card to The Green Jar, a Black-owned refillery shop whose purpose is to reduce single-use plastic!
Need some inspo for your waste-free week? Check out one of our writer’s zero-waste experience!
