Student Engagement Coordinators Collaborating with you, the students, to make your student life the best it can be!
Student Engagement Overview Friendly faces on campus and online, here to support you throughout your postsecondary experience.

Nobody understands student problems like students do. That’s why we have students in charge. That’s right: students like you, advocating for you. Our Student Engagement Coordinators are here to bridge the gap between you and your student union by answering any and all concerns you may have. Check out our 2020-2021 Student Engagement Coordinators:

Camila Ruiz Tacha

North SEC

Born in Colombia, Camila is a 2020 graduate of the Child and Youth Care program at Humber, as well as a former IGNITE Board Director. After working behind-the-scenes on the board, Camilla is excited to engage with students and make sure they feel heard as the North campus’ Student Engagement Coordinator. One day Camilla wants to combine her post-secondary education with her passion for travelling to work in Costa Rica or Spain, where she hopes to teach English and help marginalized communities. Even though Camilla wants everyone to know IGNITE is more than just the free popcorn, it’s definitely not a bad thing having it around – it’s Camilla’s favourite snack!

Erika Johnson

Lakeshore SEC

Erika is a third-year Public Relations student at the Lakeshore campus, and former events lead at IGNITE. One of the things that Erika is excited to do as your Lakeshore Student Engagement Coordinator is getting to know you – yes, you! She can’t wait to hear from Humber’s diverse student body to gain different perspectives and better advocate on their behalf. If you can’t find Erika at the office or in class, she’s probably outside soaking up the sunshine and getting all the rays in while she can, since she’s hoping to move to rainy Manchester, England in a few years. If you see Erika on campus or on Instagram Live, make sure to stop and say hi, she’d love to meet you!

Julia Ciampa

Julia is a third-year Justice Studies student at the University of Guelph-Humber, and upon graduation hopes to study at law school to become a crown attorney. After being a Director on IGNITE’s Board in 2019, Julia wanted to continue being a voice for students and advocating on their behalf, which is what inspired her to be a Student Engagement Coordinator. When she’s not studying up on the legal field or reaching out to students, you can catch her singing her heart out – word on the street is Julia has been singing since she was 8 years old, and loves to perform. Maybe one day we’ll be lucky enough to catch a concert!
