At IGNITE we understand not every student follows the same journey during their time at post-secondary, which is why IGNITE Health and Dental Fee of $110.69 is billed with your tuition each semester that you are enrolled in classes whether you are Full-Time or Part-Time status at Humber College. Students at the University Guelph-Humber will only be automatically enrolled in the plan if they are considered Full-Time status with more than a 2.0 course load. Those who are Part-Time will have the option of Opting-in. All students are automatically enrolled in the Balanced Plan.

Winter 2024 coverage period: January 1st, 2024 – April 30th, 2024
Summer 2024 coverage period: May 1st, 2024– August 31st, 2024

General Plan Information
To Make a Claim
To make a claim online, you will need to go to www.wespeakstudent.com and create an For your e-profile, you will need your Group number, Certificate number and provider’s name along with your banking details. You will also be required to submit a copy of your receipt pertaining to the service when submitting your claim. You will receive a direct deposit within 2-4 business days.
To do so by mail, complete the form under the Booklets and Forms Tab and mail it to the listed address. You will be reimbursed within 2-3 weeks.
The IGNITE Health and Dental fee covers several services, including but not limited to dental, prescription medication, vision care, and extended health benefits. Nonetheless, we offer students the option to opt out of the IGNITE insurance plan, as long as students are covered under a different plan and have alternative proof of coverage.
In order to opt-out, students must visit the www.wespeakstudent.com webpage and complete the form under the “Opt-out” tab. The form must be completed and submitted by 4:00 p.m. on the deadline outlined below.
Opt-out dates:
- October 13, 2023 by 4:00 p.m.
- February 16, 2024 by 4:00pm
- June 7, 2024 by 4:00 p.m.
Students must show alternative proof of coverage in order to opt-out of either the Prescription Only or Entire coverage (prescription, dental, vision, etc). Students who opt out of the IGNITE Health & Dental insurance plan successfully at the beginning of their academic year will be opted out for the full year.
You must choose one option to opt-out of:
Health, Dental and Extended Health:
Choose this one if you are wishing to opt-out of the entire plan ($110.69). For a full opt out you would require alternate equal benefits in place from an employer, spouse, or parent.
Prescription only:
Choose this option if you have private coverage from another source, for example: Parental figures or Work, and are willing to opt-out of the prescription part of coverage only. This means you will have access to our dental and extended health coverage. If you do not opt out of this before the deadline, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND.
**Please note that you can only choose ONE of the above options. **
You must also include your personal banking information as the refund will come as a reimbursement directly (Via Direct Deposit) from the insurance provider. Please note the refund will not be processed until after the opt-out date listed above.

Please be advised that the deadline shown above will not be extended: no exceptions.
Students can only opt out at the beginning of their academic year. All ineligible applications will be disregarded and will not be approved to receive the corresponding refund. You will not be contacted if your application is not approved.
If you have not been billed with IGNITE’s Health and Dental Insurance fee with your semester’s tuition and are looking to have coverage for this period, we’ve got your back!
You can opt-in to our insurance plan, providing you are at least registered for one course or enrolled in mandatory placement for the semester you begin your academic year.

A healthy family is a happy family, and IGNITE offers students the opportunity to opt-in their family members to be covered under IGNITE’S Health & Dental Insurance plan. Please note that only spouses and dependent children are qualified to opt-in.
If you decide to purchase family benefits for your spouse and/or dependent children, they will also be enrolled in the same benefit plan that you have.

As an international student attending either Humber College or The University of Guelph-Humber, you are automatically enrolled in the Mandatory International Student Insurance (Morcare) alongside the IGNITE Health and Dental Plan (WeSpeakStudent).
1. Mandatory International Students Insurance (Morcare)
- This plan covers hospital and medical services. The cost of this plan is $420.00, and it will cover you from the beginning of your academic year through August 31 the following year.
- This plan covers hospital and specific medical services. You are not eligible to opt out of this plan as it is MANDATORY for international students.

2. IGNITE Health and Dental
- This plan covers Prescription Drugs, Dental, Vision, Extended Health, etc. The cost of this plan is $110.69 per semester.

Q: I am covered under an alternative plan, can I opt-out?
A: Students who are covered under an alternative plan are eligible to opt-out at the beginning of their academic year. To opt out, you must visit www.wespeakstudent.com and complete the Opt Out application before the anticipated deadline to qualify for a full refund.
Please note, students can only opt out at the beginning of their academic year and students who successfully opt out in the beginning of their academic year will be opted out for the full year.
Q: I was not billed with the IGNITE insurance fee and I would like to be covered, what should I do?
A: Students who were not charged with the IGNITE insurance fee in the beginning of their academic year and are registered in at least one (1) course or enrolled in mandatory placement are eligible to opt-in! To opt-in, please send an email to info@ignitetsudentlife.com during the opt-in period to request the opt-in application form before the anticipated deadline.
Q: Can I add my family member(s) to my plan?
A: Yes! Spouses and dependent children of Humber and Guelph-Humber students are eligible to opt-in additional family member(s) under the IGNITE insurance plan. To opt-in your family member(s), please visit www.wespeakstudent.com to complete the “Family Opt-In” tab before the anticipated deadline.

A: As an international student, you are entitled to two (2) different insurance plans: MORCARE and IGNITE Health & Dental. MORCARE covers hospital and medical concerns and covers you for the full year. IGNITE Health & Dental covers services including dental, vision, prescription medication, and extended health. Whether you had an accident in the kitchen or want to clean your beautiful smile, you are covered!
