No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.

As the end of the semester is quickly approaching, you might be looking for your next summer job or internship. In preparation, it’s always a great idea to look for ways to beef up your resume and Co-Curricular Record (CCR) so you can impress your future employers with a little extra experience.
If you didn’t know, a CCR is an additional formal record transcript provided to students by Humber College or the University of Guelph-Humber that states a student’s skill development that has taken place outside of the classroom.
The last day to add to it this year is April 30, 2021, so in order to help you with your search for experiences, we thought we would let you know about some great CCR certified opportunities to look into!
Join the Humber Arboretum iNaturalist Student Challenge
The Humber Arboretum offers CCR-certified opportunities for students currently studying on campus or attending remotely, one of which is the iNaturalist Student Challenge.
Make 30 high-quality observations of wild organisms wherever you are in the world and submit them before applying to add the experience to your CCR credit. Available now until April 15, 2021, this self-paced challenge is a great and fun way to learn about citizen science, get outside, and connect with the natural world, all with the Humber Arboretum staff’s support. Give it a try!
Be Your Own Boss workshop with The Humber Centre for Entrepreneurship
Although the workshops already started on March 16, there’s still time to catch up and get your certificate of completion and CCR accreditation for this great workshop series.
This seven-week series focuses on ideation, marketing, promotions, sales, finance, funding and operations. All you need to do is attend a minimum of five out of the seven workshops per cohort. The sessions run until April 27, so you can get them completed just in time. You won’t want to miss out!
Pals Learning Skills Workshops
All Humber and Guelph-Humber students are welcome to attend any of the CCR certified 50-minute interactive workshops facilitated by peer learning coaches.
With workshops on topics like test-prep and test-taking, improving your memory and concentration, managing stress, note-taking and more – it’s a no-brainer! These workshops provide you with practical learning tips to keep you on top of your academics and navigate your student life.
Volunteer at the UofGH Science RendezVous Event
Unfortunately, this event is taking place past the deadline to submit your CCR forms for the 2020-2021 year; however, it still makes for a great opportunity to add for later.
Join UofGH on May 8, 2021, to volunteer at the largest Public Engagement Science event across Canada! Don’t miss out on this opportunity and sign up to participate.
