It’s that time of year again. The wind is biting, and there’s nothing I’d rather do than snuggle up by the fireplace with you. Your presence fills me with such warmth; when we’re together, I can’t remember the hardships of the day. Instead, I feel butterflies down to the bottom of my stomach, as your company wraps me in comfort.

I can still remember when we first met. Now, in the midst of our romance, it’s become quite endearing to look back on the days when our love was beginning to simmer. From the beginning, you seemed to compliment me — we blended seamlessly, undoubtedly due to your unwavering smoothness. Indeed, it was your comforting, velvety embrace that won me over all those years ago, and it is your steamy, energizing heat that captivates me still.

Like all lovers, we’ve had our share of hardships. It’s no secret you can get a little salty, and your spicy personality sometimes gets the best of you. However, despite the spills, the stains, and the occasional burns, we’ve never let things boil over, and for that, I’m forever grateful.

So here’s to us, my love. Here’s to you. Here’s to many more years of appreciating you in all your countless forms: tomato, mushroom, Italian wedding, chicken noodle, potato, and of course, pho. I will never tire of you.

Soupbar opens at the North campus on Wednesday, Feb. 5. It will run every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the LinX Café (LX110).

Lakeshore campus

The Lakeshore campus will feature Soupbar pop-ups on: Wednesday, Feb. 5; Wednesday, March 4; and Wednesday, April 15 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the IGNITE Student Centre (K Building).
