Last week we published an article about the 9 things you can do with $5000, a practical guide to spending your money.
But what if you weren’t interested in being rational with your newfound wealth?
Since IGNITE’s student feedback survey is giving students a chance to win $5000, we compiled a list of 9 outlandish things you can do with $5000!
The Fleurburger 5000
Burgers are a staple of the average North AmericanĂ‚ diet, and are often associated with the words “cheap” and “fast.” However, if you visit the Las Vegas restaurant Fleur, don’t expect to find a dollar meal, because their burger costs an astounding $5000! This expensive feast is a combination of fine ingredients and a bottle of 1995 Vintage Petrus. Why not indulge your tastebuds and spend all your money on one meal?
Get a pet Bengal cat
If you’re bored with the common lineup of pets at your local pet store, but are not quite ready for a wild animal, why not try a Bengal cat? This hybrid cat is a combination of the Asian Leopard and a domestic house cat, offering the buyer a unique experience of both worlds. Did I mention it will cost you $4,500?
Rock some diamond earbuds
Forget about those plain headphones the rest of the school is rocking, and stand out with a fresh pair of diamond studded earbuds. We can’t guarantee they won’t get stolen, but we’re certain your ears will be the talk of the town! These beauties will cost you $5,175 dollars!
Give like you’re rich
Winning money and then giving it all away is not something most people would consider. From one perspective, you’ve achieved no financial gains, but alternatively, you’ve become internally “richer” by helping others who are less fortunate.
Soak in an Evian water bath
SoBe’s Hotel Victor is offering guests an unusual bath time experience with Evian water filled bathtubs for $5000! This luxurious bath is complimented with daisies and a smorgasbord of extravagant snacks!
Wrap your toes in affluence
Socks have become a widely celebrated garment in the past few years, with people everywhere rocking unique patterns, prints and colours to add spunk to their everyday wear. What if your socks exceeded quality and quirk beyond anything else on the market? A German apparel brand called Falke launched the most expensive socks, which sell for $1,188 per pair and are made from the hairs of the Peruvian Vicuna. With $5000, why not purchase 4 pairs of these one of a kind socks?
Rent a celebrity
What would be cooler than having a celebrity swing by your birthday party or randomly show up at school to hang out with you? How is this possible, you ask? Simple, you just rent them out! The more famous the personality the more expensive the price. For $5000 you can have American Idol contestant William Hung or America Pie actress Tara Reid pose for selfies with you!
Buy a used car
Wouldn’t it be great to have your own car? You could avoid public transit and stop begging your parents for their cars. Although you can’t expect to purchase a new vehicle, $5000 can get you a working car! Who needs a sun roof, leather seats or remote starter, when your vehicle can transport you from one location to another!
Pricey coffee beans
Coffee is commonplace around campus. But instead of reaching for a cup from Tim’s or Starbucks, why not indulge in Kopi Luwak, the world’s most expensive coffee at US $3000 per kg. This hefty price comes from the way the beans are processed, which is through the digestion of the civet cat, emerging finally in the cat’s poop.
As ridiculous as these ideas are, they are only possibly if you have an extra $5000. Try your luck today by participating in IGNITE’s survey!
*Please note IGNITE does not recommend you actually purchase any of these outrageous things.
