The Queen has arrived.
June is Pride Month, and though we can’t celebrate outdoors this year, there are a ton of ways that Humber and UofGH students will be celebrating virtually. To add on to the indoor Pride celebrations, IGNITE is hosting the ultimate Pride Month contest with prizes including a 10-minute one-on-one video call with Toronto-native Drag Queen, Priyanka, and a personalized book bundle from Glad Day Bookshop for the second-place winner!
You won’t want to miss out on this chance of a lifetime, enter here for your chance to chat with the queen herself.
If you need some more reasons to enter, we’ve compiled a list on why you need to enter for your chance to speak with this superstar:
She was a part of our childhood
OK, so if you didn’t tune into YTV‘s The Zone as a kid, did you even have a childhood? A little known fact about Priyanka, she is a graduate from Niagara College’s Broadcasting program and was the host of hit TV segment–The Zone prior to starting drag. Meaning, she’s been providing us with quality entertainment for years–what a queen.
Nonetheless, Priyanka (AKA Mark Suki) has had one of the BEST glo up’s of all time.
She will be on Crave’s Canada’s Drag Race
If you’re a fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race, you’re going to love this. Premiering on Crave on July 2, Canada’s Drag Race will showcase a ton of Canadian drag queens including Toronto’s very own, Priyanka. But, that’s not all–judges will include RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11 runner-up Brooke Lynn Hytes, actor Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and fashion model Stacey McKenzie.
Priyanka explains that she chose this stage name because she wanted queer people of colour (POC) to see someone repping their culture. If that isn’t inspirational, I don’t know what is.
She was voted NOW Toronto‘s Best Local Drag Performer
By now we know that Priyanka is an absolute queen, and that’s evident with her following of over 20,000 loyal fans AND her title as 2019’s Best Local Drag Performers by NOW Toronto. Priyanka embodies the diversity and beauty present in Toronto through her platform and performances.
Making Toronto proud as usual–you go, girl.
She’s an amazing performer
OK, so she came and stole our hearts by being a drag sensation and she’s back at it again releasing her second single, “You Look So Good“. Filled with killer choreo and looks, her music video for “You Look So Good” is an empowering must-watch.
Seriously, what can’t Priyanka do?
She serves looks for days
Beyond being the Queen of Drag, Priyanka is also the queen of fashion and someone you need to have on your Instagram timeline. From showing us a whole new world with her Aladdin cosplay to runway-ready ensembles, her Instagram is definitely the place to go for makeup and fashion inspo.
So, what are you waiting for? Enter today for your chance to win!
