Do you care about Humber College and/or the University of Guelph-Humber and its student body? Do you have what it takes to make Humber and GH a better place? If so, now’s your chance to make a difference and run for a position within your student government. There are four executive positions available this year. These full-time positions include the President and three Vice-President (VP) positions, for the North, Lakeshore, and Guelph-Humber campuses.
Becoming an Executive is the perfect way to gain valuable experience, build your resume, and make a positive change that matters.
Here is the basic information you need to know about each position:
The President represents IGNITE and the student body. This individual will be accountable and responsible for managing the VPs and hosting key IGNITE events. The candidate will also be required to plan a long-term strategic outlook for the IGNITE brand and lead advocacy initiatives.
Vice President (all campuses):
The VPs have some of the same core responsibilities as the President in relation to advocacy and representing IGNITE, but most importantly act as advocates for their respective campuses. Successful candidates will become the face of the campus they attend, creating innovative ideas to improve the existing services and identifying new opportunities. Applicants should be forward thinking, creative and dedicated to improving their campuses.
If you are interested in these positions or want to find out more, check out the online job postings for the President and VP positions or email Vanessa Silaphet, Project Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Not interested in a full-time position, but still want to get involved? Consider running for a position on the Board of Directors. The board is accountable for annual strategic planning and budgeting processes, and approving major financial decisions. It’s an important role with less of a time commitment.
The nomination package deadline is February 3rd. Pick up a package at the IGNITE office at your campus, or online and start gathering nominations as soon as possible!
We hope to see you take this opportunity and make a difference.
