Position Overview

IGNITE is looking for an experienced student to join our web team as a Videographer. The Videographer is responsible for filming and editing a wide range of videos including video series, event coverage, promo videos, and interviews. The Videographer will work under the direction of the Communications Coordinator.


  • Produce a wide variety of video content (including both filming and editing) relating to all IGNITE services, events, and initiatives
  • Work closely with the Communications Coordinator to ensure the timely delivery and quality of videos
  • Identify interview subjects, arrange and conduct interviews to acquire the required information for video production
  • Conduct continual research of activities and events at IGNITE and present video ideas to Communications Coordinator
  • Photography of IGNITE events and initiatives that adhere to IGNITE guidelines
  • Copywriting for short video descriptions

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous filming and editing experience
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Previous experience creating videos specifically for social media is an asset
  • Ability to cover a variety of topics including lifestyle, events, topical pieces, arts, opinions, and more
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Experience using Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects is an asset
  • Experience creating motion graphics is an asset
  • Audio post-production skills are an asset
  • Photography skills are required
  • 2-3 video samples required. Videos must showcase your own work.
