Real Talks International Women’s Day

Celebrate International Women’s Day with talks from two empowering speakers: Dragon Den’s Arlene Dickinson and former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe.

Thursday, March 9 | 12:00PM

North campus LRC Concourse

Although the both women come from vastly different backgrounds, each has a powerful and unique message to share with Humber and Guelph-Humber students.

Join us on Thursday, March 9th in the LRC Concourse at 12 p.m. for Kaitlyn’s talk and at 1:15 p.m. for Arlene’s talk.

Arlene Dickinson is one of Canada’s most renowned independent marketing communications entrepreneurs. As CEO of Venture Communications, her creative and strategic approach has turned the company into a powerhouse with a blue chip client list. She is also the CEO of, a company she founded in 2012 that is dedicated to serving and investing in entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurial lifestyle. Dickinson is best known to Canadians as one of the venture capitalists on the award-winning CBC series Dragon’s Den, The Big Decision and marketing expert on Recipe to Riches.

In her Real Talk, Arlene will tell her story, providing a rare look into her success. Brimming with lessons in self-doubt and self-confidence, her story is underscored by modesty, grot, and enormous heart.

Kaitlyn Bristowe is best known for her appearance on ABC’s popular television series The Bachelorette. Now Kaitlyn is an ambassador for self-acceptance in light of a backlash of cyberbullying that resulted from her no-nonsense, expressive behaviour on the 11th season of The Bachelorette.

Her conversation will share a unique perspective on the unwavering popularity of the reality genre, what it truly reveals about the audience that consumes it and how to overcome adversity in the public eye.

Event open to all Humber and Guelph-Humber students on a first-come first-serve basis. Event will also be available for viewing on Facebook Live).

We hope to see you there!
