Whip out an old white t-shirt and throw on your dancing shoes because on Saturday, September 21st IGNITE is hosting a massive paint party at Woodbine Racetrack to kick off the start of a new school year!

We know that starting post-secondary for the first time or even returning, can be really stressful. The Frosh Paint Party is a great way to let loose, meet new people, and take your student experience to the NEXT LEVEL! Come out and dance the night away to your favourite beats while getting splashed with all the colours of the rainbow! 

Need a lift to the event? We’ll be offering a shuttle bus to-and-from North campus and Lakeshore campus! It will be $8.50/round trip and can be purchased when you buy your event ticket!

Need a refreshment? There will be a 19+ section!

In addition, we’ll be giving away 1000 exclusive Paint Party kits for those who have purchased an event ticket and opted-in to the ‘Events and Social Opportunities’ fee. It will include a fanny pack, phone protector, goggles, and an IGNITE drawstring bag! Stay tuned for more details!

Guest + Event Policy:

  • All attendees must be 16+. For Humber/GH students, valid student ID (or timetable + photo ID) required for entrance. For guests, valid government ID required for entrance.
  • There will be alcohol available for purchase for those 19+ of age. Valid government ID required to purchase alcohol.
  • Bags will be permitted (max 1 bag per attendee).
  • No outside food or drinks permitted.
  • No bottles permitted. There will be free water provided throughout the event.
  • This is a cannabis-free event.
  • Students may bring up to 3 non-Humber/Guelph-Humber guests
  • Guest sign-in policy in effect. Guests must enter the event with a Humber/Guelph-Humber student
  • Each guest must present their own pre-purchased ticket and photo ID. For security purposes, guests may be subject to having a photo of their ID taken, which will be stored for a total of 14 days following the end of the event.
  • IGNITE reserves the right to search all persons and property to ensure security at the event.
  • IGNITE reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone they do not see fit to enter the event.

Bus Info

Buses will leave North campus in front of the LRC and Lakeshore in front of the K Building beginning at 6:30 PM and running until 10:15 PM Buses will return to campus until 1 a.m. or until every student has left the venue.


Woodbine Racetrack is a wheelchair accessible venue. For further accessibility requests or questions, please contact Lindsay Zaferis, Events Director by Monday, September 16th. If you contact us after this date we will make every effort to accommodate your request, but cannot guarantee your request will be granted.


In order to make sure you’re safe, the following security measures will be in effect:

  • Security will be performing mandatory searches at all entry gates, where students, guests, and bags will be subject to pat-downs and wand searches.
  • Please be advised that this event includes strobe lights, paint spraying, and loud noises.
  • Toronto Police and Paramedics will be on-site to assist if necessary.
  • By entering the IGNITE event, you will be entering an authorized media zone. IGNITE reserves the right to use any photos videos or audio taken for promotional or editorial materials.




Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

All attendees must be 16+. For Humber/GH students, valid student ID (or timetable + photo ID) required for entrance. For guests, valid government ID required for entrance.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There will be free parking at the event. In addition, IGNITE will be offering buses to-and-from North campus and Lakeshore campus the night of the event. A bus ticket must be purchased ahead of time.

If I’m taking public transportation then how do I get to Woodbine Racetrack?

The TTC does not take you directly to Woodbine Racetrack. For your safety, we recommend using our shuttle bus service from campus, a ride-share program, or driving.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

If you don’t print your ticket, you can always show it on your phone!

What is the refund policy?

Refunds will be accepted 24-hours prior to the event start time.

Will the paint come out of my clothes?

The paint is non-toxic, water-soluble & eco-friendly glow paint that will wash off of your body and face. It should come out of most fabrics, but we cannot guarantee that it will, so please don’t wear your favourite outfit or anything that you mind getting dirty including your shoes. There will be areas of the event where the paint will not be sprayed, but if you are attending the paint portion of the event, please be prepared!

Paint tip: cover any electronic devices with zip-lock bags to protect them, however, we encourage you to leave all valuables at home. If you plan on getting sprayed, you are allowed to bring protective eyewear like goggles to the event.

Will IGNITE Frosh be accessible to students with disabilities?

Frosh is a wheelchair-accessible event. Accessible parking is available at Woodbine Racetrack.

Does my guest need a ticket?

Each attendee needs their own ticket for the IGNITE Frosh event. We will be accepting mobile tickets and printed tickets.

What if my student card hasn’t arrived yet?

Don’t panic. You can bring a copy of your current timetable and a government piece of photo ID to get in. Forms of Government-issued ID that will be accepted are Ontario Driver’s License, Canadian Driver’s License, passport or Ontario Photo Card.

Can my guest use their student card as ID to enter the event?

Yes, guests accompanying a Humber or the University of Guelph-Humber can use their ID if they are students at another school. Anyone over the age of 19 who wishes to purchase alcohol must provide government-issued photo ID.  Forms of government-issued ID that will be accepted are Ontario Driver’s License, Canadian Driver’s License, passport or Ontario Photo Card.

Can I use my International ID?

The only international photo ID accepted will be a passport.

Can my guest meet me there?

Please arrive and check-in with your guest.

At the event

What if I get hungry?

It happens! There will be a food truck on-site where you can purchase food.

Will there be drinks available?

Complimentary water will be provided throughout the event and other non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased on-site. In addition, there will be a 19+ section where alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. They will have a cash bar with ATMs on-site.

Are there in-and-out privileges?

There are no in-and-out privileges. If you’re in, you’re in. If you leave, you leave.

Will there be a 19+ area?

Yes, there will be a 19+ area at this year’s IGNITE Frosh. Attendees who are 19 years of age or older can only access this space with a valid piece of Government photo ID.

What form of ID do I need to get into the 19+ area?

Only Canadian-issued government photo ID or International passports will be accepted to gain access to the 19+ area.

Where can I go to smoke?

There will be a designated smoking area. However, cannabis is not permitted.


What if it rains?

This is an outdoor event and will be happening rain or shine. Should severe weather occur, we will communicate via social media and email that the event has been cancelled. In this instance, refunds will be provided.

What time do doors close?

Doors will close at 10:30 PM
