IGNITE Frosh 2018 – Smokepurpp & MadeinTYO

A new semester can sometimes be stressful, why not blow off some steam at IGNITE Frosh? On Tuesday, September 12, grab your friends for a night you won’t want to miss featuring rappers Smokepurpp & MadeinTYO.

One of the pioneers of the Soundcloud rap movement, Smokepurpp has been a major influence on artists such as Lil Pump. Purpp will be taking the stage with hits like “Audi”, “123” and “Nephew”.

Since hitting the scene in 2016 with the hit single “Uber Everywhere”, MadeinTYO has worked with Travis Scott, A$AP Ferg, and previous IGNITE Frosh headliner, Metro Boomin.

Event will take place at Universal Eventspace 6250 Hwy 7 in Vaughan.

Make sure to get there early – free bandanas will be given to the first 400 students through the door and free food and non-alcoholic beverages are also available in limited quantities. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase onsite for those 19+.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Bus Info

Buses will leave North campus in front of the Residence building and Lakeshore in front of the K building beginning at 6:30 p.m. and running until 11 p.m. Buses will return students to campus until 1:30 a.m. or until every student has left the venue.

Guest & Event Policy

  • This is an all ages event | There will be a 19+ area for those with valid government-issued ID
  • No bags permitted
  • Students must present their Humber/Guelph-Humber student ID OR class timetable and photo ID for admission
  • Students may bring ONE non-Humber/Guelph-Humber guest
  • Guest sign-in policy in effect. Guests must enter the event with a Humber/Guelph-Humber student
  • Each guest must present their own pre-purchased ticket and photo ID. For security purposes, guests may be subject to having a photo of their ID taken, which will be stored for a total of 14 days following the end of the event.

Universal EventSpace is a wheelchair accessible venue. For further accessibility requests or questions, please contact Lindsay Zaferis, Events Director by Wednesday, September 5. If you contact us after this date we will make every effort to accommodate your request, but cannot guarantee your request will be granted.

GETTING THERE

Where is the event taking place?

This year FROSH will be off campus at the Universal Eventspace located at 6250 Hwy 7, Vaughan, ON L4H 4G3.

Where do I park?

If you are driving to the venue there is free parking on site.

If you plan on taking the bus, you can park in the designated open lots on campus.

Do I need a ticket for each night?

Each attendee needs their own ticket for each IGNITE Frosh event they are attending. We will be accepting mobile tickets and printed tickets.

What if my student card hasn’t arrived yet?

Don’t panic. You can bring a copy of your current timetable and a government piece of photo ID to get in. Forms of Government issued ID that will be accepted are: Ontario Driver’s License, Canadian Driver’s License, passport or Ontario Photo Card.

Can my guest use their student card as ID?

Yes, guests accompanying a Humber or University of Guelph-Humber can use their ID if they are students at another school. Forms of Government issued ID that will be accepted are: Ontario Driver’s License, Canadian Driver’s License, passport or Ontario Photo Card.

Can I use my International ID?

The only international photo ID accepted will be a passport.

Can my guest meet me there?

Please arrive and check-in with your guest. Guests are able to use the free bus service with valid event ticket.

How frequently will the buses be running?

Buses will start shuttling guests from campus to the venue at 7 p.m. and will stop at 11 p.m. sharp. However, buses will be returning attendees back to campus continuously throughout the night until 1 a.m.

AT THE EVENT

What if I get hungry?

It happens! There will be limited free food at the venue at a first come first serve bases.

Will there be drinks available?

Non-alcoholic drinks will be available free of charge throughout the night. The 19+ section will have a cash bar with ATMs onsite.

Are there in-and-out privileges?

There are no in-and-out privileges. If you’re in, you’re in. If you leave, you leave.

Will there be a 19+ area?

Yes, we’re introducing a 19+ area at this year’s IGNITE Frosh. Attendees who are 19 years of age or older can only access this space with a valid piece of Government photo ID.

How much are alcoholic drinks?

Alcoholic beverages are $7 and are cash only. There will be an ATM onsite.

What form of ID do I need to get into the 19+ area?

Only Canadian issued Government photo ID and passports will be accepted to gain access to the 19+ area.

Where can I go to smoke?

Strictly no smoking inside the venue, but there will be outdoor patios for attendees to smoke. Please note marijuana is still illegal in Canada and smoking/vaping marijuana is not allowed anywhere on the premises. Attendees found in possession of illegal narcotics will have their drugs confiscated and will be removed from the event.

Harassment & General Policy

IGNITE is dedicated to providing a harassment-free event experience.  We do not tolerate harassment of attendees in any form.  This includes, but is not limited to, physical assault, verbal harassment, sexual harassment, stalking, unwanted physical contact, or unwanted advances.

This is a media-friendly event and videos and photos will be taken of attendees.  However, engaging in any photography where the subject feels they are being stalked, exploited, degraded or disrespected is strictly prohibited.  Should an attendee feel that photography/videography becomes harassing in nature, they should contact IGNITE staff or security, who will take steps to resolve the situation with the proper authorities.
