What relevant experience and qualifications do you have for the role?

  • A few experiences that I have that would make me a suitable candidate for this position include being able to take on leadership roles, having knowledge in finance, being able to continuously evaluate and teamwork abilities.

  • As a manager at McDonald's, I have many responsibilities, which include being approachable to the crew, being able to monitor the performance to identify if there needs to be any changes to effectively be able to assist customers, as well as set goals.
  • Being approachable allows the crew to communicate to me about their needs to make it a better working environment for them. They are able to express their voice and together, we are able to form positive experiences.
  • Gathering the feedback from students is essential, thus, approaching these young individuals through various means (i.e. social media, events, individually) to discuss about their thoughts on what goes around in the school, their personal issues , etc. can assist in implementing things that would benefit these individuals.
  • As a manager for two years, I am able to thoroughly monitor the performance done by crew on a monthly basis. Through these analyses, I am able to identify which areas the crew struggles in to meet the store’s targets and from there, we use different approaches to reach our objective.
  • Similarly, as a board of director, it will be crucial to use the students’ feedback on programs and events that may or may not have been implemented as a way to see if there has been positive improvement throughout the school in terms of education necessities, clubs (social involvement), etc. Looking at these changes and planning strategically will also inform us where more finance needs to be served, to ensure that every aspect of the school and students necessities is carefully looked at.
  • Working at McDonalds and GNC gave me the opportunity to work as a team with my colleagues, where I was able to communicate my ideas as well as hear others ideas to allow the process of work flow smoothly. Teamwork is essential to create positive changes in an environment.
  • Able to work well in diverse groups - through internship experiences (Kazandji Law Firm) as well as current employment. This allows me to learn about other cultures, which will help me when it comes to meeting needs that is suitable for all types of people.

Why are you the ideal candidate?

  • My skill sets are suitable for the requirements for board of director. In specific, being able to be approachable, accountable, manage finance through my experiences makes me an ideal candidate for this position.
  • Always having an open mind and positive mindset allows group work run smoothly, which are attributes that I possess.
  • I am a self-motivated individual. I take keen interest in learning new things continuously and actively engage in this process. Self-motivation has got me to where I am today (applying for this position).
  • Dedicated and committed to tasks - evident through my school working habits as well as when working at McDonald's and GNC.
